Rev Mike Racing to Raise Money for Church of the Advocate

On April 20, I will begin the RockStar Challenge bikepacking race, spanning over 250 miles from its starting point in Harrisonburg, VA to the finish line in Roanoke.

Though I have been planning and training for this race for some time, I have decided to dedicate my race to Church of the Advocate, and am asking for donations to COA in support of my race.

Every contributor to the Church of the Advocate Bike Race Fundraiser will be eligible to subscribe to a blog series where I will offer pre-race reflections, diary entries and pictures from the race, and a post-race reflection. Additionally, I will send along a link to a “dot tracker,” which shows real time standings.

Our goal is to raise $2,500 for Church of the Advocate by the time I cross the finish line!

There are a few ways to give:

• Give online at reddooravl.org . Click the “donate” button. Under the fund dropdown menu, select “Bike Race Fundraiser.” Under the “memo” dropdown, either opt in or opt out of reflections from my blog.

• Send a physical check written out to Church of the Advocate. In the memo line, write “bike race fundraiser.”
