As you enjoy the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV this Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon on NBC, keep an eye out for the talented Trinitarian, Amber Guzy, who will showcase her skills with The Spirit of America Dance Team! This opportunity stems from Amber's remarkable achievement at the Showstopper dance competition in Concord, NC, back in April 2023. Outshining around 90 participants, Amber secured the 1st overall position and received the prestigious 'Golden Ticket Award,' earning her a coveted spot in the 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade without the need for an audition.
Reflecting on Amber's dance journey, Kate Guzy, Amber’s mom, shared, 'Amber has been immersed in dance since the womb, inheriting her mom's passion for clogging. Her formal training began at Center Stage Dance Studio in Asheville, NC, at the tender age of two. By seven, she was competing with the studio's company team, marking the start of a remarkable dance career.' Kate continued, 'Amber's dedication to her craft persisted even during the challenges posed by the Covid outbreak. She attended online classes with her studio, trained at Steps on Broadway in NYC, and collaborated with professional NYC tap dancer Felipe Galganni.'
Amber and her family are currently in New York, while Amber is immersed in rigorous rehearsals leading up to her much-anticipated Thanksgiving performance. However, before they left, Amber's classmates at I.C. Imagine Charter School staged a newsworthy send-off. Click here to read the full article and watch the video from WLOS. When you see Amber, Austin, Kate, or Andy at church next, be sure to share your congratulations. The Guzy family graciously shared these photos to capture a glimpse of Amber's journey.
